As the entire world faces this pandemic and we find ourselves having to stay away from one another, we don't have to worry about social distancing from nature. A brief escape from quarantine into the sunshine and fresh air will do much to lift our spirits and our hearts. The sabbat of Beltane is a time for us to give thanks for all that nature has provided for us. Beltane is the celebration of male and female energies uniting to create new life....in the Pagan tradition it honors the union of the Goddess and the Green Man. It is a joyous celebration of life and fertility and the time to begin planting crops for the season. As the days get warmer and nature bursts into bloom feel free to venture out and enjoy in a responsible manner.

Imagine traveling back through the sands of time to ages past, to eras when ancient ancestors walked upon the Earth, leaving footprints and clues for us to follow. What secrets did they hold? Many ancient cultures held the Earth in reverence and knew how to live in harmony and balance with nature. They relied on herbal remedies and other techniques for healing and well being. They were creative in their artistry and techniques for producing various goods and other items, WITHOUT the aid of electric machines. Necessity truly was the mother of invention.

Fast forward to our 21st century world, where our technology would have seemed like magic to the ancients. But are we really so much better off than they were? We live in a time where our air and water are polluted and stress governs our lives on a daily basis. While we've succeeded in curing some diseases, new ones are constantly emerging. Things like obesity and mental health issues are on the rise which only add to the stress that exacerbates and compromises our health even more.

So what can we do about it? Might we find some of the answers we seek by looking at the past and learning about some of the ancient techniques and healing methods practiced by the ancestors? These are by no means cure-alls for what ails us, but some may at least relieve stress and help us to feel better. It's true that much of the knowledge of the ancients was destroyed over many centuries but bits and pieces did manage to survive and were passed down through the ages and many are re-discovering some of the wisdom of ancient practices.

While technology is useful to make our lives easier, we shouldn't rely on it exclusively. All of our creative and spiritual needs must be met as well. The videos and articles posted here may offer an introduction to a different way of life for those who wish for change. Living more simply and taking time to enjoy the gifts that nature provides for us will go a long way to enriching our state of being.
